Well you never know that Caleb might have been Native American decent since we can't really tell his true face behind the darkness covering it in his spritely appearance in the game (save for the mouth), the incomplete modeled one from the cutscenes even though Blood 2: The Chosen shouldn't even be considered as a worthy Blood sequel.

Perhaps in part, but definitely not fully. The nose (of what little we see) and cultural references are European, as well as his origin, obviously.

I'll add that what I mean by the cultural references, they draw from European design, although Caleb was in existence before all those things were crafted. Just a bizarre thought, though.

You see it's all the random inspiration for me. The model's original influence was Ash from Evil Dead. It could have been Clint Eastwood or any "iconic" person that would fit his character I think. His face is in constant shadow so it leaves to your imagination. It gives an extra to the atmosphere. I have to give him a face though...

Assuming the holder of the copyright is in America, they can tell you to stop making a derivative work, which this model could arguably fall under. They would possess this right until the year 2092, under current U.S. copyright laws.

You have several defenses. You could argue that this use is non-commercial and therefore does not challenge the copyright held by the holder. You could argue estoppel, that the holder cannot enforce this right because they have already encouraged player modifications to the game (through the 3d build engine editor). You could also argue that this use has some journalistic merit, which would place it under First Amendment protection (although this is pretty shaky territory).

Basically, copyright law is a big tangled mess and right now it grossly favors the holders. They could legally prevent you from doing anything with their work even if it's not directly injuring them. Your Caleb model, this website (whose top banner is a derivative work), and all fan mods could fall under their yes-or-no decision. If they choose to be confrontational about it, they do have the legal power to shut you down.

Luckily, a far more practical concern works heavily in your favor. Legal cases cost money, and if the relevant thing didn't make much money in the first place, they're unlikely to bother with something as non-profit as making a personal model or hosting a forum website at a loss.

And most importantly, this element cuts very heavily in your favor: the copyright holders appear to be reasonable about this and the relevant Intellectual Property has become quite popular because of fan-made free contributions.

So that's good.
