How to get music working on XP & Vista

Post by Daedolon » Jul 8th, 2009, 15:19

I found this particular patch while googling about this this very same issue I was struggling with myself as well.

This file replaces the Microsoft Audioman DLL file (AM18.dll) with a newer one that adds Windows XP and Vista support. You might also get the music working by running the game (CLIENT.EXE) in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode, but it often cuts the sound out. With this patch you can have best of the both worlds.

That's the .dll I hex-edited and fixed.

Nevermind, I found the patch using google. This post still helped me figure out what was wrong though.

A lot of the stuff on the forum here points out to our previous site. I will correct most of the stuff when we get everything sorted out.
