Re: Greetings to the Blood Community
So according to the lastest tweet on that page (I think, I don't use Twitter) it's going to cost 1,000,000 (dollars I assume lol).
I normally don't spend money on things like this but I'm willing to donate a small amount but considering how small this community is I'm not sure if we would be able to make it unless we all put in enormous amounts of money.
Perhaps if we can get Devolver, Jace (and team?) and as many people as possible together we can actually make this work? I wonder why they would want that much money for such an unknown franchise anyway. :/

A million dollars isn't actually that much to these companies, but they know it's about enough to kill all expectation
Very unfortunate, very frustrating.

Thing is, that $1,000,000 is just a way of them saying "Nope you can't have lolz" which is common knowledge that economics is often used as a barrier so anyone can't get it but only a handful few. I think that's how business works apparently.
So it's safe to say that Blood is dead along with others like Redneck Rampage, Descent, System Shock, etc.

Often used as a barrier in socialist regimes in order to impoverish people, to the end that they become more easily manipulable. In this particular case, however, it's all about risks and profits. If they're either risking something (as insignificant as it may seem) or profiting nothing, whatever's on the table gets canned.Blood of Nightmares wrote:which is common knowledge that economics is often used as a barrier so anyone can't get it but only a handful few. Do I have to like the outcome when it doesn't help the cause I support? no, but it's their right in a free, healthy economy. I owe nothing to them, they owe nothing to me.
Descent's source code was released already back in the 90's. As for the others, I'd say, yes and no. With a powerful enough computer and good enough emulation, they may live forever (in software mode or bad 3dfx), but it won't be that good for a while yet.Blood of Nightmares wrote:So it's safe to say that Blood is dead along with others like Redneck Rampage, Descent, System Shock, etc.

Socialism? This is actually Capitalism we're talking about here.Status Cruo wrote:Often used as a barrier in socialist regimes in order to impoverish people, to the end that they become more easily manipulable. Oh wait, I just now remembered that you're a waste of time when it comes to these subjects knowing how you are on things...
Well I also mean though that we're never going to see a new installment on a another Descent game ever, of course though I just now remembered that it's source code released though so I'm half 'wrong' there though but however, I heard that Descent's community is almost comparably dead to this one though and they really haven't put that much work to it compared to the Doom community and such.Status Cruo wrote:Descent's source code was released already back in the 90's. Re: Greetings to the Blood Community
Big government and business rarely benefits the common man. Its always been about making the rich richer. The ultimate wet dream is the creation of plutocracy conglomerate, which has happened to an extent with the UN, but the UN lacks its own military so the power is mostly gained through bankers (most of the founders behind the UN where bankers and owned the land its central headquarters where created in, the John D. Rockefeller), use of heavy speculation on the open market, resulting inflation can effectively cripple foreign competition and can increase debts people owe over time through incremental manipulation of interest rates, in combination with governments lowering taxes for select few business they favor and providing selective land grants, trade licenses and joint ventures they can collectively own anything that is worth owning. The only ace in the sleeve of the people is human capital. But big businesses tend to sweep them up to with more better paychecks or many other perks like the right contacts. Being 'in' or 'out' so to speak. The reason its regarded as beneficial is because of its mutually beneficial relationship with democracy, which is highly regarded, even amongst asian countries its been gaining alot of ground over the past 20-30 years.Blood of Nightmares wrote:

What does that have to do with Socialism? I guess hes means that its perfectly acceptable to have greater wealth distribution in a Democracy, that helps overcome the disadvantage of the wealthy few getting richer at a much faster rate than the common man. It helps to have a already established culture of service, where the public servants are very civic minded and willing to help the average person in need and participate politically in some way beyond voting.

If you can dupe, bribe and extort enough people into supporting whatever depraved socialist agenda you may have in mind, there goes democracy, and any regard for man's life and dignity, neither ever an offshoot of democracy itself.
It's about time people quit worshiping this stupid, false idol of democracy and start fearing God.

Re: Greetings to the Blood Community
People forgot that we are somewhat strict about keeping things on topic in the BLOOD section... most of the time.
Anyway, this is amongst the most famous threads of Posty. Let's keep it pure for the day in which Jace decides to return. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have time to read about socialism during all that gymming.

I wonder if Jace Hall will ever come back and make a post here.
Not dead... yet.
Re: Greetings to the Blood Community
People, Jace hall just made a post on his facebook about him finding an old shareware box of Blood and that it got him wondering about if he should put the effort in trying to revive Blood again. Time to show support and our love for the game
Please comment on his post ASAP!
