THIS. Blood needs this. Monolith, make it happen. I know the Blood community is still active, but the game is almost forgotten these days, and that's a shame. This is a great game, it should be more recognized.cardij wrote:This is not Blood, but:

I think this is what blood would have been like (but better) if Jace's vision had come to life. I gladly spent $10 on this (it was worth every penny), even though I own the game and own the GOG version of the game. I would have spent $30+ on Blood if it had come to this. I think Jace's vision had a lot of market potential.

This just in. Atari is seeking to generate money by selling off it's assets. Now hopefully; Jace Hall (or Monolith) is going to purchase the Blood IP from Atari's clutches. And hopefully the Blood source code will be available under GPL.

Is there any way to know how much they want for just the blood franchise? We could do a donation drive or crowd fund to buy it ourselves so no misuse can come from it.

Re: Greetings to the Blood Community
Not sure if you guys already know about this but there's a Shadow Warrior reboot in the works. And the classic SW is also free on Steam.
Devolver Digital, the same company that brought back Duke Nukem 3D on Steam and helped with a reboot of the Serious Sam franchise is spearheading the effort. Obviously, this isn't Blood, but if Duke and Lo Wang got remakes as well as ports of their original games to Steam, what does this mean for Blood? Can Devolver (which, coincidentally enough, is the Spanish word for "return") complete a new chapter of the BUILD trio?
Just so everyone knows, I have read through this entire topic, and I'd be completely for Jace's vision over mine of Devolver Digital taking up the game for themselves. I'd much rather have the original Blood fixed up (if it even needs to be, aside from compatibility issues) than a rendition of it...though a rabid pack of cultists on fire would be a wonderful sight in HD.

Re: Greetings to the Blood Community
As far as i know the SW Reboot is not the same compared to the Shadow Warrior from 1997
Duke Nukem 3D Megaton's Multiplayer is comming in July 2013
But what about Blood it should have a Remake
I Wanted Blood To have Multiplayer that is not faulty
I Also wanted
* Practice Bots
Some People might not be good in the game so it will be good to have Practice Bots
Wanted : Skill Levels, Name Change Ability, Custom Skin Support
Not Wanted : Limited Level Support (Just Like QuakeWorld's Frogbot)
* Easy to Use MapEdit
It might be better to create a UnrealEd Styled Blood MapEdit it should be more easier for Blood Map Designers
Wanted : Episode Generator, MIDI Support for Levels
Note Wanted : Hard to Use Mapedit
Plus i would be a great idea to have the Community to create it i remember at the QuakeOne Fourms There was a Ultimate HD Pack named "Epsilon" it was made using the Community's Work on HD Enhancements with Darkplaces if we can make the Blood Remake just like Epsilon did with Community Enhancements
But im not sure about releasing the Source Code to the Public though i was thinking of releasing it Privatly to the Community to Team Together to work on the Remake.
Best Regards

Has anyone considered starting a Kickstarter for the project? I think it would be very successfull.

Again, the issue is not funding. The issue is permission. Read the thread.

By the way, we're actually having a lan party next month with old computers (Win98 installed), and we're gonna play Blood again. It's gonna be madness.
Anyways, reading the thread now from the start -->
