Welcome to the fold, RedFanatic.

Welcome Red, Posty is a good place to reside.

I do feel the need to correct you and say
Dante was a writer.

There's alot one can do with the theme of purgatory as far as story is concerned. It's an interesting setting and it being applied to Blood sounds very interesting.

I like your avatar by the way RF :D

Hi RedFanatic! As it happens, I did try Purgatory lately but since Im using DOSBox to play Blood I can't seem to get it working. There is something wrong with my Windows XP and it refuses to run DOS applications to any degree. So unless I can figure out how to get this working in DOSBox...

if the problem is with 16bit operating system (or something like this) check your config.nt and autoexec.nt in %systemroot%\system32 - they should be the same like ones in %systemroot%\repair. if they aren't - just REM those inproper lines. also check, if there is command.com in %systemroot%\system32. if not - one is in %systemroot%\repair. hope it helps.
signatures are irrelevant. they are for those naive simpletons, who think that they can sum their whole life philosophy in several worlds.
idiots.

Ive tried and tried all sorts. Interestingly, I found one fix solution that advises to look for updatemgr.exe but this isn't on my system at all. If someone with Windows XP Pro could e-mail me that application Id be most grateful. You never know.

PS. Daed - could you make it as separate topic or join this part to another?

i had the same problem (with another digits in last line), which was caused by avast's entry in my config.nt. i REMed it and everything worked well since then. but if it's not this, then it's hard to tell from a distance what's wrong. maybe system.ini and/or win.ini are screwed (it's just pure guess)? sometimes resident program like antiviruses like to meddle here and screw things ;)
