Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
Hmm, a quick internet search revealed there may be a patch that turns 0.99b into 0.99c. The thread lists it as follows: "blood99c.zip - Blood 0.99b to 0.99c (shareware version)", and it's part of a large torrent download.
Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
There is a patch for the internet shareware 0.99b to be upgraded to internet shareware 0.99c. Its original filename is 99b99c.exe and you can download it everywhere.
http://www.the-postmortem.com/files/ftp ... 99b99c.exe
The retail (physical CD) shareware 0.99b cannot be upgraded with the internet shareware patches. Of course if you can find a specific patch for it, that would be amazing. But I kind of doubt it exits. We should find a copy of the European Retail Shareware and make a CD image out of that to start our quest.

Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
Since I like all things Blood and having a packrat mentality, it doesn't really take something amazing for me to covet it, but one can only wonder if there really is anything specific to Retail 0.99c that we're not already aware of, and from what I see there isn't a whole lot of documentation on version differences and stuff (even if the release notes get updated, I've noticed it isn't uncommon for developers to miss some details).
Be it a potential "rsw99b99c.exe" or the real deal as patched up CD, I agree it's definitely worth a look, though mostly for the sake of having the 100% perfect collection.

I think it would fit smoothly in the beginning aquarium hall of E4M2 as well.

Would anyone who can run 0.99 now be willing to check E1M1's crematorium for this sound? I'm not the only one with a hunger for even the smallest tidbits of Blood trivia.

<Boilerplate> Thing is MoonStalkeR: You seem to be suffering from schizphernia, which the MoonStalkeR personality is your base one, Mobius is the aggressive personality, Krypto is the depressive personality, Nautalus is the pervert personality, etc

Do you have access to these CDs? I'm desperately trying to find CD Images of PPak v1.10. I also was unaware that Cryptic Passage CDs had different versions of the game, I'll try to figure out what I have and would love to get the missing ones.
Here's a copy of 0.99b SW (originally just named blood.exe), if you're missing it:
