The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
This thread will be the center of all, preferably interesting or previously unknown, miscellaneous tidbits and facts surrounding Blood.
Have some oddities you found out, maybe found out about a weird difference between versions, saw Tchernobog march the streets, or even heard a Blood sound effect in a movie? Post them all here.
Have fun!

Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
You are missing the 1.20 Plasma Pak version (has both 3DFX and Plasma Pak).
EDIT: Added the proper 1.11 Plasma, thanks for pointing it out.

Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
So, apparently a 1.10 Plasma Pak really exists, though I can't find out a single actual existing CD with that particular version on it. I'm not rich enough to start buying all of the existing Plasma Pak copies either.
As a disclaimer, the more common version of Plasma Pak is referred as 1.11(CD), which, coincidentally, is not the true 1.11 version of Blood. There exists a patch to patch it up to the actual 1.11 version.

Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
There exists 4+2 different versions of the Blood TOOLS.
- Version 1.00 comes with the Retail FULL version 1.00 of Blood.
- Version 1.10 comes with the (unconfirmed) version 1.10 of Plasma Pak.
- Version 1.11 comes with the retail CD version 1.11 of Plasma Pak.
- Version 1.11 comes with the retail CD version 1.21 of One Unit Whole Blood.
Now, although the version numbers match between the OUWB and PP versions, they have received updates in-between, and their files do not match. In addition, Version 1.00 is patchable to the following versions
- Version 1.01
- Version 1.02
Versions 1.00 through 1.02 only come with ARTEDIT, BARF and MAPEDIT and their relevant documentation. Version 1.10 adds B2BLUD as well as EDITART (for some reason), and these are retained throughout the OUWB 1.11 version.

Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
It was Joebama who pointed it out to me, but Brian Eno's Stars is featured as an ambient sound.

Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
As an addendum, many of the songs on the Brian Eno album that features "Stars" were also made into short, neat ambient sounds as well. "Stars" is the only one that I could find initially until listening to the whole album.

These ambient sound finds are brilliant discoveries to me. I MUST KNOW MORE.

Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
I think E1M1's crematorium has it in v0.99. If it's indeed the same, awesome find

Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
For some reason, the (internet) Shareware version 1.01 has no persistent mouse aiming by default. You have to keep the key (default 'U') held down, similar to Quake, whenever you want to aim. You can of course go to the SETUP to change this behaviour, but it's odd that this single version acts like this by default. What makes this weird is that all versions both after AND before worked like normal. Both the Retail FULL version 1.01 of the game as well as the Retail Shareware version 1.01 have normal mouse aiming support.
On my endless quest to delve into the versions a bit further, I've noticed that even when patching something such as a 1.00 Shareware version to 1.01 versus just installing the plain Shareware 1.01, the executable files don't match. Basically there's an endless version hell of Blood versions out there.

To this day I've never been able to install it, comes up with some pseudo, out of worldly error which I recall reiterating but I can't find my previous post, maybe Posty being bork ate it :I
What was so special about 0.99c?
@Moonstalker: Holy crap that's an awesome origin for that ambient sound in E3M2 from what I've always perceived to be a sanctuary, hiding spot, good find

Re: The Supreme Topic of Miscellaneous Knowledge
There exists a patch for Retail Shareware 0.99c to 1.10, and that's the only patch you can do from 0.99c up.
Basically it would mean there's a physical retail shareware version with the version number of 0.99c, and that it must've come later in the development as the only patch is to 1.10. I'm assuming the European Retail Shareware version (French version) is one of these later builds.
Should be also noted that there are patches for a Retail Shareware 1.00, which I also have no knowledge of. The patches that we know of basically reveal the existence of these versions:
Blood Retail Shareware Version 0.99b
rsw99b01.exe Update Blood Retail Shareware Version 0.99b to 1.01
rsw99b02.exe Update Blood Retail Shareware Version 0.99b to 1.02
rsw99b10.exe Update Blood Retail Shareware Version 0.99b to 1.10

rsw0001.exe Update Blood Retail Shareware Version 1.00 to 1.01
rsw0102.exe Update Blood Retail Shareware Version 1.01 to 1.02
rsw0210.exe Update Blood Retail Shareware Version 1.02 to 1.10
rsw1011.exe Update Blood Retail Shareware Version 1.10 to 1.11 (presumably can be used for 0.99c patched to 1.10, but unlikely)
