Blood and Blood II out now on GOG.com for $5.99
An absolute tradegy. Not only is their now no other guaranteed location to acquire OUWB, but the plethora of other abandonware titles shall now vanish to the confines of the ether. Only to be grasped on the very rare occasion it is sighted on either an auction or anomalous storage site.
I am skeptical as to GOG's closure, regardless of what the official story may spout. I fear they may have deliberately pulled out oweing to financial issues, but whether they were facing what they perceived to be bankruptcy or geniunely could not maintain the service any longer is up to speculation.
Paranoid? Yes. It stems from the revolutionary transformation in most areas of the gaming industry, from developers who cherished their creations like new born (hence the Golden 90's) to those whose incentive is driven primarily by profit. While I cannot provide an accurate example of this, one does have to stop and compare the quality of modern titles across every platform/sytem to those of their 90 counterparts.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
I wanted commandos pack, and many other games... I guess I should have been more eager to get them.

I know the pain man. I also wanted King Pin. Oh well, it'll be nice to hunt for a box set anyway.

As we suspected it was a marketing trick, they can't afford huge marketing schemes so they used us as a way to get all the big sites to talk about them.
GOG is coming back online 1PM GMT tomorrow with Baldur's Gate and completely renewed site.

Sneaky monkeys.
Blood + Focus = Love · Faith is the key · Heretics and traitors cannot stand before us · Some games are self-perpetuating - Blood requires conscientious communal effort to survive · We are the last line · Ask not for whom the main menu animates · Blood's promotion and survival - all other gaming considerations are secondary · More than just a game · Need a hint? · Make a standKazashi wrote:Daedalus, I don't care how much you know about Blood, your attitude has to change.

I really wish they would pick up the entire Bullfrog catalog...they aren't going out of business are they?

EA owns Bullfrog, so no to that until EA can comfortably do a deal with GOG, which I doubt will happen any time soon since they are afraid of the words "DRM" and "free" in the same sentence.

Does EA own the entire catalogue" Or is it one of those deals where they only own certain franchises? If they do own it all thats a shame. Those games will never get the revamp they deserve. Dungeon Keeper, Syndicate, Theme Hospital...so good.

EA also owns the rights to the Ultima games. I hope they revamp and update them. They were a fantastic series.
