Cradle to Grave -- Your Blood experience will live again!
Yes but the maps will require some additional editing to make doors and other things work.
Re: Cradle to Grave -- Your Blood experience will live again
So will there be a tutorial teaching how to "make doors and other things work"? So that the average end user can do it themselves?
Re: Cradle to Grave -- Your Blood experience will live again
Yes, I will likely be in charge of handling that matter and it's likely going to be a WIP thread here of us answering your questions until we've covered enough to actually package it into the game download itself.
But yes, it's one of the most important aspects of C2G, allowing people to use it as a development platform for such Blood modifications that were not previously possible.

I knew that C2G is the result after the refusal of WB games/Atari/Infogrames to give us the damn source code. I think we will get eventually get it in the future but I guess we just going to have to use C2G for now.Daedolon wrote:Yes, I will likely be in charge of handling that matter and it's likely going to be a WIP thread here of us answering your questions until we've covered enough to actually package it into the game download itself.

Hi Daedolon, I noticed that on the C2G moddb page you said that the users have to convert the original blood maps themselves. Yet earlier in this thread, it is said that C2G might be released as a "source port". So can you clarify whether or not that the team will convert the retail maps? (I know that we have to converter the user maps ourselves)
Also, is the map converting a lengthy process?

What does this even mean? No source code has anything to do with C2G.Yhe1 wrote:Yet earlier in this thread, it is said that C2G might be released as a "source port".
We might convert a map, but I can't say if it's likely since that's not the goal of C2G.Yhe1 wrote:So can you clarify whether or not that the team will convert the retail maps?
You use the converter, then you have to open the map in Mapster32 and fix doors, triggers and such things. Textures, item and enemy placement will be correct automatically.Yhe1 wrote:Also, is the map converting a lengthy process?

I will personally oversee the recreation of the retail maps to perfection.Yhe1 wrote:So can you clarify whether or not that the team will convert the retail maps?
Blood + Focus = Love · Faith is the key · Heretics and traitors cannot stand before us · Some games are self-perpetuating - Blood requires conscientious communal effort to survive · We are the last line · Ask not for whom the main menu animates · Blood's promotion and survival - all other gaming considerations are secondary · More than just a game · Need a hint? · Make a standKazashi wrote:Daedalus, I don't care how much you know about Blood, your attitude has to change.

What about RATM, since you made it?Daedalus wrote:I will personally oversee the recreation of the retail maps to perfection.Yhe1 wrote:So can you clarify whether or not that the team will convert the retail maps?
Also, will c2g will be tied to a specific version of eduke?
Re: Cradle to Grave -- Your Blood experience will live again
The latest.Yhe1 wrote:Also, will c2g will be tied to a specific version of eduke?
It will use whatever is latest at the time of its apparent release, older versions may work but are not supported.

Can we get an update of the progress of this project?

I would say the same thing, is there anything new going on with this project? I hope it's not abandoned since we haven't heard about this project for a long time.Yhe1 wrote:Can we get an update of the progress of this project?

Is this project still being worked on?
Re: Cradle to Grave -- Your Blood experience will live again
Not at the moment. It was put on hold quite a while ago due to some technical issues.Blood of Nightmares wrote:Is this project still being worked on?
I personally wanted to wait and see what happens with BloodXL.
Eventually work may be continued. Such a huge part of the work (the most difficult stuff) is done that you could say the project has even passed the point of no return. There is still a lot to be done though - especially in the field of content and such. There would be no point in releasing it without either a proper campaign or functional multiplayer and we don't have either of those.

Which means that the project is likely cancelled? If so then oh bummer...(no wonder why we haven't heard from it for a long time).Dimebog wrote:Not at the moment. It was put on hold quite a while ago due to some technical issues.Blood of Nightmares wrote:Is this project still being worked on?

I guess we'll be looking forward to BloodXL then.
