I need the gear constantly turn and the player can activate and deactivate it using a switch.Daedalus wrote:The error is in your receiving Id, in this case '7'. (RX: 7)
'7' is a special flag reserved for single player level initiation. It means that upon the level beginning, the gear will constantly turn. You'll need to create a unique Id (100+) and have a switch transmit that Id and set the gear to receive it.
Proceed.
I almost obtain a similar effect with this settings:

Simple question, how do you make a pickable item NOT pickable? For example the jump-boots. I have seen some old maps where items like the boots are just decorations and can't be picked up.

Blood won't tolerate the items being decorations, as they'll revert to their base item type, so you'll have to give the object a "dummy flag" by making it an explosive object, a visible ambient sound, or some other trigger in game. Just give it the appearance of the "pickup object" and you're sorted.

You should delete hi-tag or lo-tag pressing Alt+H or Alt+T on sprite and enter 0.Tekedon wrote:Simple question, how do you make a pickable item NOT pickable? For example the jump-boots. I have seen some old maps where items like the boots are just decorations and can't be picked up.
Then you can do Explode Object. It's better set "Locked" flag. Then your EB will be unbreakable;)

Re: Blood usermaps and Mapedit queries.
Pressing 'J' to delete a red sector or Ctrl+Del. Which is the best way to lose just one simple red sector? I still 'J' my red sectors away because anytime I ctrl+del a sector, it seems to do way more damage and never does what I intended.
Re: Blood usermaps and Mapedit queries.
Joining nearby red sectors is the safest way of getting rid of them, but they MUST be connected by a same wall, otherwise you'll run into trouble. It literally means JOIN so the one you click first takes over the second one you click, and the second one disappears completely, taking the properties of the first one (or making it a part of it).
Ctrl+Del is meant to be used only for deleting sectors, which works fine if your sector is next to a white wall (void). If you use it in a sector in a middle of the room, it literally creates void there.
But it just depends on your sector placement and general use, remember that Joining and Deletion have completely different uses.

Re: Blood usermaps and Mapedit queries.
Hmm I dont remember newboard.map not being available in my Blood dir. I need to delete it because dammit, the start point was accidently put in no-man's-land on the other side of a white wall.
Re: Blood usermaps and Mapedit queries.
I personally hate newboard.map files. When I open the editor, I obviously want to either start a fresh new level or open a previous one, not having to look at the 3D mode for a few seconds before being able to do anything.

Re: Blood usermaps and Mapedit queries.
Can anybody give me a refresher on seperately editing the lower and upper halves of a red sector? I want to give each a different Z-Motion setting I cant seem to recall how this is accomplished.
Re: Blood usermaps and Mapedit queries.
If it's the same as Duke3D, press "2" (not on numpad) on the upper half in 3D mode, then press F7 or whatever allowed you to edit their values in 3D mode (F4 or F5? let me know too).

Re: Blood usermaps and Mapedit queries.
Did not know this was working in retail blood. Tried to recreate it and voila.

Re: Blood usermaps and Mapedit queries.
By re-create it you mean just took the steps necessary in order to build it? In that case it's just a feature which is intact and wasn't used in any retail map?
Re: Blood usermaps and Mapedit queries.
Yeah, what I mean is that it IS an intact feature not used.
